At 6:00am on Dec 17th Rob woke me up and said the tabernacle is on fire. I was shocked I thought he was joking but by the look in his eye I could tell he was not joking. I walked into the living room to see the breaking news on TV and the video of flames shooting out of the beloved tabernacle. Rob and I have wonderful memories in the old Provo tabernacle. First it has acted as our “stake center” for our first 3 ½ years of marriage. We have a stake center that is much closer but we have never used it for stake conference. We have instead always gone to the tabernacle, which has been something I have always looked forward to. In fact it was the first place that Stephan went to attend stake conference at as well. At the last conference we had in Sept or Oct Rob and I walked to it from our house. It was a beautiful day for a walk. At stake conference our preferred seating was always up on the balcony. The wood benches got a little uncomfortable after not too long and the building didn’t have AC so it was always very warm, but I still looked forward to going there. It was so sad to see it burn. Around 10am I drove by with my mom to see. Here are some of the pictures I took.
